The Manchester Review (McGovern et al., 2001) notes that the ROI of coaching was 5.7 in what they termed ‘tangible’ or quantifiable outputs: for example, increased productivity.
Coaching/Mentoring – Our tailored coaching services begin with pre-focus work and end with evaluation and measuring clear outcomes for each client. Our programmes evolve to meet the unique needs of each individual or business client. We offer 1:1, team, group coaching/mentoring or action learning sets where the target is learning or project focussed. Every approach aims to identify, analyse and resolve issues which are blocking the potential for growth. We have a range of tools and techniques which we share with our clients empowering them to take control of their own personal development post coaching.
Executive Coaching and sound-boarding - having operated at executive levels within several organisations our team understand the unique needs of those operating at strategic levels to receive confidential support and coaching. The unique nature of the coaching relationship allows those at the helm of organisations to ‘think aloud’ and fully explore their thoughts and ideas before unravelling them in the public domains of the work place. Executive Coaching also helps to nurture the personal development of the top players, which is crucial to the evolution and growth of any competitive organisation. “Executives like the confidentiality and personal attention: they also like what coaching does for their careers” (Hall et all 1999)
The sound boarding element is where we have competed at least three sessions with an Executive and they wish to have an on-going relationship to commission ad-hoc sessions to focus on one current issue, project or developmental aspect rather than have a fully scheduled programme.
Leadership development: “Quite simply, in any human group the leader has the maximal power to sway everyone’s emotions. If people’s emotions are pushed towards the range of enthusiasm, performance can soar;” (Goleman et al 2002).
Our leadership programmes focus on either Executive & Operational Leadership or Board Member development.
Our Executive & Operational leadership programmes are client driven and focus on agreed outcomes which form critical success factors to measure the programmes against. We employ a range of tools from leadership climate assessments to training and coaching in executing our work with leaders. The emphasis of our approach is creating a high level of self awareness and building the capacity of leaders to respond effectively to their work and business sector environments.
Board development:
We understand the good governance can only exist in Boards and Trustee groups where there is open and honest communication and a culture which promotes effective challenge and collective accountability. As both partners are Board members we are able to draw on our own experience to inform the interventions we offer. Our interventions at this strategic level consist of three components:
1. Assessment: individual feedback, observations and analysis of decision making processes. We also provide a desk top review of the current tools being used such as appraisal and training plans or learning & development feedback mechanisms. Our assessment aims to illuminate issues relating to communication, team dynamics and the motivational climate of the Board
2. Action: this includes the revision and production of any new performance tools, training for appraisers, team cohesion activities with clear group & personal development plans incorporating business, personal and portfolio objectives & outcomes. We also aim to align this with a clear audit trail for organisations wishing to demonstrate Board efficacy and Value for Money in development and training activities.
3. Review: quite simply a 360◦ appraisal system including feedback from senior executives and Board colleagues to inform the next evolution of appraisal, training and development.
Training - by adopting a psychosocial approach, Onecontinuum is able to truly teach the fundamentals of people management. By understanding the motivations, aspirations and basis of behaviour our clients will start to realise their true potential and overcome the barriers to achieving this.
